Complutense University of Madrid

The Historical Library of the Complutense University of Madrid is the center of development for the bibliographic heritage of the Complutense University and brings together the historical and special collections of the institutions that preceded it.

The bibliographic collection comprises approximately 3,000 manuscripts, 725 incunabula, and around 100,000 imprints from the 16th to 18th centuries. It also contains collections of loose prints and print books, personal papers, photographs, and musical archives. Located in Madrid's Noviciado street, it is the second library in Madrid, after the National Library, in terms of volume of books published prior to the 19th century and occupies a position among the top five libraries in Spain.
