Las seis páginas de esta cartilla constituyen el texto más antiguo de la lengua tzotzil preservado en caracteres de imprenta. Los subtítulos están en español y tzotzil, y el texto solamente en tzotzil. El bibliógrafo Nicolás León (1859-1929) tuvo a la vista otras seis páginas, de las cuales la primera contenía el Credo en latín y tzotzil. Aunque no hay localimonio de la portada ni del colofón, el mismo bibliógrafo sugirió que se trata de una Cartilla, es decir una breve exposición de doctrina y oraciones cristianas, y que salió de la imprenta de Juan Pablos hacia el año 1547. Dada una ilustración de María y una referencia en una de las oraciones, León también concluyó que el autor era dominico. Sin colofón.| The six pages of this doctrine constitute the oldest text of the Tzotzil language preserved in print. The subtitles are in Spanish and Tzotzil, and the text is only in Tzotzil. The bibliographer Nicolás León (1859-1929) identified another six pages, which contained the Creed in Latin and Tzotzil. Although he does not identify a title page or a colophon, León suggested that it was a Christian primer and that it came out of the printing press of Juan Pablos circa 1547. Given an illustration of the Virgin Mary and a reference in one of the prayers, León also concluded that the author was a Dominican. No colophon.
